Meet the Team

Our Story

We are Ashley Singh and Evan Brown two best friends and founders of Amrit & Evan. In 2013, Evan and I met in San Jose, while I was a student at San Jose State University and Evan was attending the Art Institute of California - San Francisco. As college roommates, we became very close friends and soon discovered we are like-minded individuals and both have a passion for weddings, design and all things floral.

Over the years our friendship grew stronger Ashley, and I consider ourselves soul sisters who have a deep understanding of one another and have very similar views, passions, we work great together and have a love for the arts. We realized we needed to do something together, we dreamed of starting our own business together, in 2018 we finally made our dream a reality. With Ashley's experience working in the floral industry and event design experience combined with my marketing and merchandising background, Amrit & Evan was born.

We love weddings and events. Our passions are designing and planning inspired + timeless creations while curating custom work for our clients to reflect personal touches that uniquely illustrate their love story. Explore our site, take a look or get in touch!

Ashley Amrit Singh

Ashley was born and raised on the beautiful island of Maui. She spent most of her childhood on the island and love to visit her grandfather at his nursery Kihei Garden & Landscaping Co in Wailuku, Maui. Ashley loved spending time in nature and exploring the island. As a past time at her grandpa's nursery, she gathered plumeria or jasmine flowers and made fragrant leis so that she could gift them to loved ones; in Hawaii leis are a symbol of affection, expressing “Aloha” meaning LOVE. After moving to California, she was inspired to bring the spirit of Aloha with her and reflect that in all she does. Ashley is a firm believer in following your dreams and doing all things with LOVE.

Ashley’s lush + organic style and unique mediums reflect her native Hawaii and California which offer lush landscapes and natural beauty. Ashley's Hawaiian and East Indian roots are infused in her art, creating versatile looks of fine floral art. She has an eye for detail and loves to work with various color palettes. Ashley is passionate about the creative process and looks to be innovative by exploring new methods + techniques and utilizing all that nature, and the floral world has to offer. She had over eight years of floral design experience and decided it was time to start her endeavor. She teamed up with her best friend and business partner Evan Brown to launch Amrit & Evan.

Ashley loves owning her own business and being a designer in her home-based studio because it allows her to dedicate time to what she loves aside from her studio, which is her family, close friends and traveling. You can find her cooking, gardening, watercolor painting, hosting dinner parties, spending time with her loved ones, and spoiling her sidekick Maile, her lovely 12-year-old German Shepherd. She loves to travel and is always seeking new adventures and whatever that may bring along.

Her favorite day is Sunday; curled up reading a good book with tea, or spending the afternoon lounging at home with family + friends with delicious food and red wine of course!

Evan Rachel Brown

As a native Southern California girl, Evan was raised in the South Bay of Redondo Beach and has always had a passion for creative design and merchandising. Living by the beach, Evan’s whimsical aesthetic reflects her love for nature and natural beauty. Starting at an early age, Evan loved to decorate and naturally had a desire for organizing. Growing up in a household where her mother and older brother worked in advertising, Evan was exposed to the creative industry since childhood. With an eye for composition and design, Evan received a degree in Fashion Marketing and Merchandising.

Working in the retail industry as a student, visual merchandising became a role she thoroughly enjoyed. While attending the Art Institute of California - San Francisco, Evan was able to take visual merchandising courses, along with other classes like event planning and marketing. With the skills, she learned at the Art Institute and her fascination for creating her own space, Evan knew she wanted to pursue a career in event planning.
